VIEW THE THING
ENJOY IT
this is someone else's character I drew for something awful's art trade thread, there's some cool stuff there so I'd reccomend checking it out.
as far as portfolio stuff goes, I finished everything in time (somehow) and am feeling not so good about how graphic design went and pretty good about illustration. we'll see in due time though!

blood, sweat, and coconut water
What a frenzy it's been trying to get all this stuff together! I'm sitting here in my friend's house in oakville trying to fall asleep for a while before my 8:30am interview, yikes!
I think it'll go pretty well, or at least I hope so anyways. It would be nice to have some options with what I can do next year.
Anyways, here is a portfolio piece I did in a McDonalds yesterday at 3am while listening to podcasts about serial killers (with occasional breaks to hear the late night staff educate some other customers on coconut water).
Also, not that I have any washington readers, but yes, it's a real concert

construction paper... also butts
Ok, so it's been a bit more than a couple of days. BUT I STILL POSTED~
This is one of my portfolio pieces I am actually pretty enthused about, I think it's something that will not be as commonly seen as paintings/drawings/etc. in terms of the Illustration portfolio, and as far as the Graphic Design one, I think it works pretty well. The photography is not the best, and, I now realise, slightly slanted, but you get the idea. I have another one of these I will post at a later date.
This one is of a picture I took in Chinatown about a year ago from the top of the Dragon City mall. I call it "big ol butt"

ITS ME YO
I know it's been a while since I last posted so please enjoy this triangular representation of my face.
I have been doing lots of geometric, lineless stuff lately, as you will soon see, and I don't know why. I guess I am getting bored of my usual styles and stuff which I guess is natural. I don't know if I'll be busting out the polygons again any time soon like I did here, but only time will tell!
Portfolio stuff is going well for those wondering, although some days are admittedly more productive than others. I started watching lots of TV shows on DVD. Supernatural, most notably, I went through 5 seasons in like 2 and a half weeks and now I'm watching 30 Rock, which is pretty good although completely different.
ANYWAYS, next post will be in a couple of days, I just gotta photograph some of my stuff.

back in the swing of things
Hey all. Typing this from my new computer ,WOOOOOOOOOO
basically the last few day have been pretty eventful. I have had mad art block, I was really busy, and to top it all off, my computer stopped working mysteriously after I tried to install a new tablet I bought. so, I decided that I can't really afford to have a shitty computer anymore and I'm gonna need one for school in a few months anyways so I got a laptop. turns out new lapotop crushes art block.
it's pretty cool, to the left is my first experiment with SAI Painttool on this computer. I just drew some guy from a magazine but I think it turned out pretty well so I'll see if I can't make it into a porfolio piece somehow.
no line style is improving also, YAY

more website stuff ft. raccoon
More stuff for my future website. Above will be the main menu. I figure I will stop here on this project since working on the HTML could take weeks if I let it, and I can throw together a mockup in about an hour (if need be) with the stuff I already have done.
Left is a raccoon. Raccoons are adorable and my first attempt at drawing one did not go well. But hopefully it will improve since I'm gonna be drawing some serious-ass raccoon for my next project.
Ideas are finally coming together for the portfolio, just have to implement them now! Also I'm gonna see if I can't update the top banner on the blog & possibly the background. It's been bugging me for a few weeks how "meh" it is.

HANDS, GLORIOUS HANDS

This may not look like a lot but it took me an AMAZINGLY long time. Last night, after 8 hours, 22 "Stuff You Should Know" (including "Stuff You Missed In History Class") podcasts, and infinite cups of tea I finished. Left is what I started from last night, which in and of itself was a pain to prepare. If you are wondering what purpose this may serve, it's a tileable pattern! I'm going to use it for my portfolio website which also has the dual purpose of serving as a portfolio piece in and of itself. More on that later, but the visual theme of the website, as you may have guessed, will be hands. I have some cool ideas but I really have to get moving, the gravity of how little time I have is really starting to hit me. Anyways, enjoy this hand tile, feel free to shrink and use as a desktop background if you are so inclined to do so. (Also, FYI, zoo was pretty much a bust, will maybe post my 1 hyena drawing from that trip later.)
